Football heroes and great football games come and go, but coach Joe Restic is always around, and always a winner. The 1975 football season appears to have boiled down to one meteoric clash again, but it might not have were it not for Restic's minor miracle-working. The game against Yale today is not the key to a successful season for Harvard, though it could go a long way toward making it a memorable one.

Harvard's appearance in a championship game today is a testimonial to Restic, since this marks the third straight season that Harvard has challenged for the title right into the final week.

The McInallys, Holts, Kubackis and Currys come and go, but Joe Restic is always there to explain victory or defeat--and usually victory--to those who want to know.

Closing out the year on a hot streak, here are this week's winners:

PENN-CORNELL--Cornell is just the worst. Penn 23, Cornell 12.

BROWN-COLUMBIA--The Bruins can maintain the hope that The Game will end up in a tie, creating a three-way tie for the Ivy championship. There is some incentive for them to show up for, and indeed play in, this game. Brown 29, Columbia 18.

PRINCETON-DARTMOUTH--There were high hopes for these two earlier in the year, hopes which have long since passed. I believe that the Tigers are the better of the two, but I could always change my mind. Princeton 22, Dartmouth 21.

HARVARD-YALE--If you look at trends in recent years, then Harvard (which lost 35-0 in the rain at Yale just a few seasons back) is in for a long afternoon. There is no logical way to figure this game, so it's not even worth trying. I hope Harvard wins. Harvard 31, Yale 23.

CRIMSON-YALE DAILY--The longest major college newspaper winning streak goes on the line again, with little chance of it being broken. Crimson 23, Y.D. 2.
