The new democracy slated for the Coop will not emerge for about another month.
The cause of the slowdown is the M.I.T. Committee for Committees, a student body which will submit the names of the M.I.T. nominees for Coop stockholders and Board of Directors positions.
Delay
Charles P. Whitlock, chairman of the stockholders nominating committee said that "the election has been delayed for up to six weeks because we want to follow the M.I.T. procedures for approval of student nominations for committees."
Soon
Whitlock said he expected to hear from the committee sometime between December 17 and Christmas. "As soon as those names are submitted, they will go into the official ballot," he added.
The elections are part of the by-law revisions passed by the Coop membership vote on November 10. The revisions give the students five of the ten stockholder positions and 11 of the 23 places on the Board of Directors.
