Cleary Wins Position On Hockey All-Stars

Crimson center Bob Cleary was named to the first All-New England hockey team over the weekend by the area's, sportswriters. Defenseman Mario Celi was selected for the second team, and four other varsity players, including Captain Charlie Flynn, received honorable mention.

The starting team was dominated by Boston College, which is on its way to Colorado for the NCAA championships this week. The Eagles named were goalie Chick D'Entremont and center Jim Tiernan. The other starting members were Russ Kingman of Brown and Bob Dupuis of Boston University on defense, and Richie Cavanaugh of Northeastern at wing.

The second team included three B.C. players, defenseman Dick Gagliardi, center Joe Moylan, and Captain Ed Carroll. Besides Celi, the other members were Yale goalie George Scherer and B.U. wing Jack Carruthers.

With Flynn on the honorable mention list were Joe Crehore, Bob McVey, and Terry O'Malley, all forwards.
