Student Council members will meet with H.A.A officials this week to suggest that several sections of Stadium seats be sold to settlement-house children at reduced prices just before every game that hasn't a near-capacity crowd.
The resolution was introduced by Charles Brynteson '50 as a means for filling the empty seats at many of the less popular football contests. The Council first discussed making the seats available to graduate students, but it was feared this would draw from usual purchasers of general admission tickets.
Brynteson said that for his purposes the sale could be limited to people under 14. He just thought that "As long as the H.A.A. is going in debt, they might as well go in debt with a full Stadium."
PBH Does it Now
The same actions is taken with a different motive once or twice a year by the PBH social service committee, which sells unused end-zone seats to local children for 15 cents.
Other Council action included the appointment of Donald L. Bornstein '50 to the group. The new member will work mainly on the Class Affairs committee, which runs elections of Class committees and supervises class activities. Bornstein has worked with the Council on National Student Association activities, and last year received the Ames award for his efforts in establishing the purchase card system.
The Council also approved the charter of the Harvard Flying Club, which now becomes an official undergraduate organization.
