AVC Table Has Facts On Ballots, Congress For November Voters

Implementing its drive to make every veteran a voter, the American Veterans Committee established a voting and registration information table in the Yard in front of Widener yesterday morning and attracted 300 students in its first day of operation.

Under the direction of Stanley Karson '48 and with the permission of Wilbur J. Bender, counsellor for veterans, the table will be operated for the remainder of the week or as long as there is sufficient demand for its services.

Voting and registration laws vary widely from state to state, according to Karson, as only some states have arrangements for absentee voting and others have poll taxes. The AVC has facts on every state as well as the voting record of all present incumbents during the seventy-ninth Congress on all major issues.

Vote tabulations on OPA, veterans housing, terminal leave pay, and other bills, are available at the table which will be operated from 10 to 2 o'clock daily.
