Varsity, J.V. Lacrosse Teams Win

Trounce M.I.T., 8-3; Narragansett, 8-0

Eight was the lucky number on the Business School Field yesterday as both the Varsity and Jayvee lacrosse squads tallied that many times to turn back opponents M.I.T. and the Narragansett Lacrosse Club by 8 to 3 and 8 to 0 scores.

Tech landed the first blow in the Varsity game, with a score by Engineer Jay Madden, but instead of firing his teammates, the goal increly infuriated the Crimson. Before M.I.T. could hit the nets again, they had tallied seven times to few up the victory.

Creaseman Dick Bezanson led the Harvard scoring parade with four goals and an assist, while Captain Hans Eatin collected two goals and a pair of assists.

Allen Stars in Nets

Few could detect that Crimson goalie Algy Allen had been playing midfield last Saturday. He performed brilliantly in the nets all afternoon, helped in no small measure by his defense and midfielders, who fed the attackers with efficiency and accuracy.

Funciest shot of the day was the goal by Fred Chamberlain, an over-the-shoulder try made as he sprinted away from the nets.

Eddie Davis' Jayvee players weren't very charitable hosts to their unfortunate visitors from Providence. Goalie "Mad Anthony" Ripley handled all shots with aplomb to gain himself a shutout, and just about everybody who had a chance scored a goal.
