George Hauptfuhrer's 14-point effort in the Varsity's losing performance at Hanover Wednesday night established a new season scoring record for a Crimson basketball player. The six-foot-four-inch center has totalled 329 points in 20 games, eight points higher than Wyndol Gray's total of 321 points last season:
The defeat at Dartmouth also dropped Coach Bill Barclay's team from fourth to sixth place in Ivy League competition. Undefeated Columbia now needs only two victories in its remaining five contests to assure the Lions at least a tie for the championship.
