John McAndrew, Curator of Architecture and Industrial Art at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York City, has been awarded the Fogg Museum Fellowship in Modern Art for the year 1942, the University announced yesterday. He will spend most of his time in Mexico studying Mexican colonial architecture. He received an S.B. in 1924, then studied for four years in the Graduate School of Architecture, taught fine arts at Vassar, and then joined the staff of the Museum of Modern Art. The fellowship stipend is $2,000.
The fellowship was established three years ago for the advanced study, in this country or abroad, of any phase of 20th century art. The purpose is to enable scholars of proved ability to complete advanced studies in modern art as an aid in obtaining permanent posts in the field of art.
