STATE POLICE SEARCH FOR HIT-RUN MOTORIST

25,000 Cars to Be Checked for Clues to Killer of Cyclist Richard G. Wheeler Enroute to Princeton Game

BOSTON, Nov. 22--State Police today appealed to Massachusetts moterists to aid in a search for the hit-and-run driver who killed Richard G. Wheeler '38 as he was bicycling along the Worcester Turnpike on the way to the Princeton game on the night of November 2.

Captain James P. Mahoney stated that the search had widened to all sections of Massachusetts, and that neighboring states had been asked to check damaged cars answering descriptions given by witnesses. Police also requested all garages and repair shops to report repairs on fenders or purchases of head-lamp lenses.

Wheeler's bicycle was caught on the car until the driver stopped in a South-boro side-road to remove it, leaving fingerprints which police believe will lead to positive identification of the motorial when he is caught.
