Powerful Crimson Eleven Outplayed By Yale as Harvard Loses Only Game of Season--Underdog Blue Team Takes First Game in Three Years From Crimson After Hard-Fought Battle

On the first play, Sherry carried the ball out of bounds. On the third down the same quick kick from placement was tried with Wood kicking and Crickard holding. Hageman tackled Parker on Yale's 34-yard line. Following this the Harvard forward wall stiffened considerably and two Yale plays failed to advance the ball.

On the second play, Hardy, burly left tackle, received a slight bump and Wood called for time out. The Harvard lineman was soon on his feet again and on the third down, Yale kicked, Parker's punt searing forty yards to White who was forced out on Harvard's 44-yard line.

The spinner play that Harvard has used throughout the season failed to gain. On the second play, a forward, Wood to White, gained only three yards. On the third down Wood kicked, Parker taking the ball on his own 30-yard line, running it back a good 10 yards.

On the next play Crowley carrying, Yale noted six yards. Crowley again carried for no gain. Parker kicked on the third down, his punt going to Crickard on Harvard's 25-yard line, after which the Crimson safety man ran it back 10 yards.

With the ball in their possession on their own 36-yard line, Wood tried a long pass to White which failed. The same play, repeated again, was incomplete. A Yale penalty for interfering with an eligible receiver, gave Harvard a first down on her 38-yard line. On the next play, a lateral pass, Sherry to Wood, gave Harvard another first down on Yale's 39-yard line.

Crickard slashed through Yale's line for five yards. Supported by beautiful interference, Crickard swept around Yale left end for about 12 yards, the ball resting comfortably in Harvard's possession on the Eli 34-yard stripe.

Time out for Harvard. Yale substituted Hawley for Flygare. Harvard's temporary march was ended with the resuming of play, when Barres recovered a pass in the Yale 35-yard line.

Crowley gained 2 yards through center, Lassiter ripped through for a Yale first down, bringing the ball to Yale's 45 yard line. Crowley rushed the ball to midfield.

On the next play Crowley carried the ball to Harvard's 44-yard line for the second Yale first down. Crowley hit the line savagely for two yards. Lassiter's pass to Parker failed. As the period ended with Yale in possession with the ball on Harvard's 42-yard line. Third down with eight yards to go as the Yale stands rose in a body to give the Blue jersey eleven a cheer.

Score--Harvard 0; Yale 0.

FOURTH PERIOD

Esterly started the period at left guard in place of Ginman. Lassiter attempted a pass into the central zone and Yale was penalized five yards. With the ball on Harvard's 49-yard line, Parker kicked to Crickard on Harvard's eight-yard line where he was spilled by Barres after a three yard advance.

Crickard gained three yards through center. Carrying a second time, he gained about five more yards. With two yards to go on third down, Wood got off a fairly short kick to Lassiter, giving the ball on Harvard's 40-yard line.

Time out for Yale. Harvard substituted Talbot for Myerson at right guard. With Yale resuming the march Levering gained two yards through the Harvard tackle.

Harvard tackle Lassiter failed to complete a long pass to Barres. Another pass to Barres was incomplete. Time out for Harvard, as Talbot was hurt on the pass play. Harvard substituted Rogers for Talbot. Talbot was helped off the field with an injured ankle. With Yale having the ball on Harvard's 44-yard line, fourth down, 13 yards to go, Parker booted a nifty kick that went outside on Harvard's three-yard line.
