Bands Play Between Halves
Immediately after the two teams left the field, the Yale and Harvard bands took up positions on the gridiron in front of their respective supporters. The Eli band first played "Down the Field", which was followed by the "Gridiron King" by the Crimson organization.
The Yale stands followed with "Whoop It Up", "Good Night Poor Harvard" and "Dear Old Yale", while Harvard sang "Our Director", "The Marseillaise" and "Fair Harvard". During the singing of the "Marseillaise", the Crimson cheering section formed the handkerchief "H" with great success.
It is plain that the wind, which is sweeping down toward the open end of the Stadium, is playing a very important part in the contest.
