In order to conserve fuel, it has been decided for the present not to reopen the large lecture room in the New Lecture Hall, but the rooms in the basement which are used for conferences in History 1, Government 1 and Economics A will be available as usual for conferences in these courses.

The following courses which have been held in the New Lecture Hall will meet beginning next week in the following rooms: Government 1, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9, Emerson D; History 1, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9, Emerson D; English A, Thursdays 10 to 12, Harvard 2; Economics A, Saturdays at 11 Emerson D. Other changes in the Announcement of the First Meetings of Second Half-Year Courses are as follows:

History 32b, announced to be given for the second half-year in New Lecture Hall, will meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11 in Emerson D.

History 56, the first meeting of which was announced for Emerson J, will meet on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in Sever 36 at 11. Economics 4b, announced for Emerson D, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11, will be held in Emerson J. Economics 18b will meet in Widener U, Tuesdays, Thursdays and at the pleasure.

Sanders Theatre to be Used.

The lectures in the Military Science courses which have been scheduled to be held in the New Lecture Hall are to be given in Sanders Theatre. Memorial Hall is heated by the excess heat from the kitchen and, accordingly, the opening of Sanders Theatre for use as a lecture hall will not involve the consumption of more fuel than is ordinarily used in the building.

Since the New Lecture Hall is heated by an individual heating plant, it is natural that the building should be the first of the University buildings to be closed in order to save fuel. Most of the buildings belonging to the College are heated from the power plant opposite the Weld Boathouse, and, accordingly, no appreciable amount of fuel can be saved by shutting off the heat sent into any one building.
