Third Junior Smoker Thursday.
The third Junior smoker of the year will be held in the Dining Room of the Union Thursday evening. President Lowell, L. Withington, Jr., '11 and P. L. Wendell '13, First Marshal of the Senior class will speak informally upon the Senior dormitory situation. Music and the usual refreshments will be provided, and the entertainment promises to be the best the class has held this year.
Phillips Club Meeting Tonight.
The Phillips Club will hold its monthly smoker at the club rooms this evening at 9 o'clock. Mr. G. W. Hinman '98, now an instructor at Andover will speak.
The Phillips Club was organized last year shortly after the mid-year period. It is a confederation of the Andover and Exeter Academy Clubs and has at present a total of 160 members enrolled.
Professor Eucken's Twelfth Lecture.
Professor Rudolph Eucken, exchange professor from the University of Jena, Germany, will deliver the twelfth of his series of lectures on "Leading Ideas of the Present Time" in Emerson D this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock. Professor Eucken will continue his discussion of "Individualism and Socialism." The lecture will be in German and will be open to the public.
First Handicap Hurdle Race.
The first of the series of handicap hurdle races will be held in the Baseball Cage this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The races will be continued throughout the winter, and the man having the best average at the end of the season will be awarded a cup. The competition is open to candidates for both the University and Freshman track squads.
