A serious accident occurred last evening at quarter past eight when H. T. Gibson '12, fell from the fourth story of Stoughton to the ground while trying to lower himself from the fourth floor to the third by means of the rope fire escape.
Gibson, who played third base last year on the University baseball team, was trying to get into Stoughton 10 on the third floor to get some old clothes, when the strap on the fire escape broke and he fell thirty feet to the stone pavement, breaking one ankle, spraining the other, and bruising his face considerably. It is not known whether or not internal injuries were sustained. Gibson was taken to the Stillman Infirmary immediately after the accident.
