The interclass track games were held on Holmes Field, Saturday afternoon. There was a strong wind blowing across the field and the track was very soft on the turns and the back stretch. On this account the times in the longer runs were slow. The games on the whole, however, were encouraging.
The Freshman easily won the Wells cup by scoring in all forty-two points. The Juniors were second with a score of twenty-three points. '98 and 1900 scored twenty-two and twenty-one points respectively.
J W. Hallowell 1901 did the best individual work, winning both the high and low hurdles. A. L. Nickerson, also a Freshman, made a good showing in the broad jump and the hundred. A. W. Robinson handily won the 100 yards dash in 10 1-5s.
The half mile was the closest race of the games. Fullerton led until the last turn where he was passed by Alexander who won by a few yards. Ledyard was a close third.
