The Opening Game on Holmes Field Shows Improvement.

In the sixth, Rand got hit and stole second. Scannell was out on an easy foul. Dean placed the ball just over shortstop but Smith doubled Rand's running catch. Paine, however, hit for two bases, scoring Rand. He stole third. Haughton hit hard down towards third and before Hill got the ball to McGuire he had slid to first giving Paine ahance to score. Curran scored for Tufts.

Harvard increased her lead by three in the seventh on a hit, three errors and a passed ball.

With no out and the bases full, Harvard only succeeded in scoring once in the eighth, but in the ninth Curran was played out and discouraged by the poor support he was receiving. He hit Scannell and gave Dean and Paine their bases on balls. Haughton then scored all three and himself on a home run. This ended the scoring.
