Haverford defeated Harvard yesterday in the first match of the intercollegiate cricket series by a score of 93 to 35. Harvard played a second innings and scored only 17 runs. The Haverford eleven have been practising for several months and played a very fine game, both in the field and at the bat. Lester, however, made two-thirds of the runs, batting out 61 runs, not out. Morris and Lester bowled very effectively both innings. Pool was the only Harvard man to reach double figures. He made 18 runs, not out, in the first inning. The score:
