To the Editors of the Crimson:
I desire, through your columns, emphatically to deny, on behalf of the Harvard Republican Club, any connection whatever with the result of a meeting held by the executive committee of the College Republican League of New England. The result of that meeting, as given by the daily papers, purported to show that the concensus of opinion of the college Republican Clubs of New England was in favor of Levi P. Morton for the next republican candidate for the presidency.
The Harvard Republican Club has virtually severed all connection with the League, received no notice of any meeting held by the League, and appointed no delegates to be present at any such meeting. Therefore the Harvard Republican Club can be held in no wise responsible for the sentiments expressed by that meeting.
Very truly yours,
ROBERT C. DAVIS, Secretary of the Harvard Republican Club.
