The time of both crews is very poor and the blade work is ragged although the first crew is better than the second in these respects. The individual faults of the men are as follows:
FIRST CREW.
Townsend, bow.- Goes back too far and rows his oar out at the finish. Otherwise fairly good.
Brewer, No. 2.- Is stiff and goes back too far, does not get enough reach, cocks his oar and rushes his slide.
Murchie, No. 3.- Slow all through the stroke, hunches his inside shoulder.
Derby, No. 4.- Recover is jerky and slumps on finish.
Duffield, No. 5.- Hunches his shoulder and is late in applying power on his oar.
Potter, No. 6.- Reaches with shoulders and goes back too far.
