PHILADELPHIA, Oct 10. - The University of Pennsylvania eleven defeated the strong team of the Crescent Athletic Club this afternoon by a score of 22 to 0.

'Varsity Practice. On account of the poor condition of Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon, the game with Brown was postponed until today at 4 p.m. The make-up of the elevens will be as announced yesterday. Butterworth, the Yale fullback, was in Cambridge, expecting to see the game.

Falling on the ball, going through signals and formations, and a long, brisk run constituted the 'varsity's practice yesterday. There was no heavy work.

The substitutes were given a chance to play, however, and two elevens lined up for a 20 minute game. The ground was too soft and slippery to permit of good playing, but the game was sharp and lively.

Moulton again showed up strongly on the left end, tackling right through the interference. Wheeler showed a great improvement at tackle and got into every play in fine style. Lewis and Deland did the coaching.

The elevens lined up as follows:

SECOND ELEVEN. THIRD ELEVEN.

Moulton, l.e. r.e., Knapp.

Bennett, l.t. r.t., Teele.
