In connection with the list it is interesting to notice the number of athletes and society men, and the number of non-society men, and the number of non-society men, men who, so to speak, do nothing but study. Of course this classification cannot be taken literally, for few men have no interests whatever aside from their books. However, in order to draw some line between those who do not enjoy social advantages in the college and those who do, the class of "Members of Societies has been made to include members of the Hasty Pudding Club, Pi Eta, Theta Delta Chi, Delta Upsilon, Institute of 1770, O. K. and Signet, the Beta Theta Pi, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon. In addition to this are given the totals of athletes, 'varsity, class, and otherwise athletically inclined, which means men who have identified themselves strongly with athletics.
