Harvard II; Marlboro 3.The Harvard team showed a material improvement yesterday afternoon in the game with Marlboro. Every man on the nine had snap and life, and as a rule paid attention to his business. There were one or two exhibitions which ought not to be repeated. The game was essentially a pitcher's game, and the fact that Bates struck out ten men during the five innings he was in the box is worthy of especial notice. Downer pitched the last innings in good form. The game showed that either Harvard is playing better or that Marlboro is a weak team.
