The 'varsity Banjo club is going to take part in the Cadets' annual entertainment in Boston, April 11 and 12. Several members of the freshman Glee club will sing in the choruses.

Hutchinson, '90, has begun training for the crew. Yesterday he was out in a pair-oar, first with Powers, '92, and afterwards with Goddard, '92. There are five old men training for the 'varsity.
The last number of the Nation contains a letter from George Hampl, of the University of Michigan criticizing the recent letter of Professor Francke to the Nation on "Instruction in German and American Universities."
F. B. Lund, '88, and G. S. Mandell, '89, are in active training for the dashes at the indoor championship meeting of the Amatenr Athletic Union. Other old Harvard men will probably enter also; notably, G. P. Cogswell for the 1000 yard run, and H. H. Bemis for the mile walk.
In the Southern tennis tournament Beck with has won the first place in the singles, and the right to compete with Campbell, the present champion, for the championship trophy, Campbell and Smith won the doubles defeating Beach and Trevor after a brilliant contest of five sets.
