University Calendar.

LECTURES ON GERMAN LITERATURE.The last of the introductory lectures on German literature will be delivered to freshmen on Thursday at 2 p. m., in Sever 11. The subject is as follows:

December 19, the Romantic School and the Beginnings of Germanic Philology. Asst. Professor von Jagemann.

LECTURES ON GREEK ARCHAEOLOGY.The last of Dr. Tarbell's public lectures on Greek Archaeology will be as follows:

CHAMBER CONCERTS.The first of the chamber concerts for 1890 will be given in Sever 11 on the evening of Thursday. January 2. Admission by ticket.

ENGLISH B.A talk on Summarizing will be given in Sever 11 on Tuesday, December 17, at 2 o'clock.

Theme V., a narrative, will be due on Tuesday, December 17.

Theme III., rewritten and corrected, may be handed back at any time before the Christmas recess.

Themes are to be deposited in the wooden box outside the door of Gray's 18 not later thau 4 o'clock. By the regulations no overdue theme will be accepted unless the writer satisfies the Secretary that his failure to present it at the proper time was caused by serious illness or other unavoidable hindrance.

Every student is required to follow implicitly the directions with regard to paper, folding, endorsing, etc., given on the English Composition card.

ENGLISH C AND ENGLISH D.The second brief will be due January 7, the second forensic January 20.
