Professor G. S. Hall, of Johns Hopkins University, has been offered and will probably accept the presidency of Clark University, the new college at Worcester, Mass.
Next week Section A in Political Economy I. will begin to read "Postulates in Political Economy, " by Walter Bagehot. Professor Dunbar will deliver a course of six lectures to both sections of the course on the financial legislation of Congress during the Civil War.
The following is the programme of this week's symphony concerts in Boston: Wendell Ecker, Concert Overture. L. v. Beethoven, Concert for Pianoforte in C minor. Fr. Liszt, Second Polonaise. Rob. Schumann, Symphony in E flat, No. 3 (in five movements). Soloist, Mrs. H. H. A. Beach.
The lecturers in the Yale Theological School for next year will be: Dr. Broadus, Lyman Beecher lecturer on "The Preacher;" Dr. John Hall, on "Universality of the Gospel;" General Armstrong, of Hampton, on "The Negro Race." It is expected that the incoming class will be very large.
The Secretary has received several letters from Harvard graduates who are engaged in the practice of the Law asking for the addresses of members of the Law School who are to leave the school in June and who wish to enter offices as students or clerks. Any members of the school whose standing justifies them in seeking to enter desirable offices may place their names on the Secretary's list if they desire to do so.
