Fact and Rumor.

The Athletic Base-ball Club of Philadelphia has arranged to play Yale, March 30; Amherst, April 2; University of Pennsylvania, April 3, and Princeton, April 4.

The officers of the Yale Chess Club have been elected as follows: President, R. S. Baldwin, '90; vice-president, H. L. Reed, '89; secretary and treasurer, DeForest Grant, '91.

At the meeting of the Harvard Veterinary Debating Society last evening, J. M. Higgen, '90, read a paper on "Rabies Canina," and E. T. Harrington an essay on "Emplysema Infectiosum."

At Amherst a committee consisting of the president, the dean of the faculty, the college pastor, the church committee and the officers of the Y. M. C. A., has been elected to take measures for securing a new building for general Christian purposes.

The old custom of cremating Analytical Geometry has been revived by the sophomores at Amherst. The whole class, attired in fantastic costumes, assembled last Monday evening, and held a trial at which the Geometry was pronounced guilty. It was then seized, carried to the class tree, and placed upon a funeral pyre, and the sophomores joined in a war dance while the book was being cremated. Nearly ninetenths of the class were conditioned at the examination.
