Base-Ball.

HARVARD 5; HOLY CROSS 3.

The nine went to Worcester on Saturday, and defeated the Holy Cross College team in an interesting and well played game. Boyden and Henshaw was the battery for Harvard and did good work. Cahill was the only man who made a hit off Boyden, while Harkins was struck out four times as he came to the bat.

Morgan was hurt in practice before the game, and as no substitute was on hand, O'Callahan of Holy Cross played centre field, Mumford going to second.

Holy Cross scored in the third on a base on balls and and a three-base hit by Cahill, who was allowed to reach the plate by an error of Mumford. In the fifth, Cahill made a hit after two men were out, stole second and third, and came home on a poor throw by Henshaw. Harvard scored in the fourth on an error of Kelley, followed by a two baser by Willard. They made two more runs in the sixth on a base on balls, and a hit by Campbell, a fumble by Harkins, and two in the eighth on hits by Foster, Willard and Henshaw, and a two-baser by Boyden. The game was ended by a fine double play. McCaffery had been given his base on balls, and had stolen second, when O'Brien sent a seeming three-base hit into right field. Linn gathered it in in great style, and threw McCaferey out at second. The score:
