In the next three innings, Harvard went out in order, with the score tied in the eighth; Dimon fumbled Linn's grounder; a steal, wild throw and a base hit by Willard brought in the winning run.

Campbell played finely in right field, his one error being entirely excusable. Foster played his usually brilliant game in left.

For Cornell, Schreiner did the best work. His coaching of the base runners was excellent and amusing. The score;
