Every student who applies for a scholarship at Dartmouth must sign a pledge not to use tobacco in any form while receiving aid from the college.- Ex.

Just before the game was called on Thursday, some one hoisted a large crimson flag which bore a white "H" on the tall staff at the middle of the northern side of the grounds.

The singing by members of the 'Varsity and '90 Glee Club on board of the Pilgrim on Wednesday evening was very spirited. The large number of passengers enjoyed it very much and called for many repetitions.

The following is the New Haven Union's account of Corbin's "little trick:" "Corbin, instead of dribbling the ball, as the opposing line expected, stooped and grabbed it, ducked his head, and dived through the Harvard rushers."

The crush of vehicles at the one narrow exit of the Polo Grounds at the close of the game was something fearful. Many small accidents occurred which would have been much more serious but for the presence of detachments of mounted police.

The gold medal which was offered by Gotzian, P. E. A., '87, to the member of the Exeter eleven who should best play his position throughout the season, has been awarded to Harding. It is of a very pretty design, with a figure in enamel on the pendant representing a centre rush snapping the ball back.

The Dartmouth College Lecture Association have arranged a series of eight lectures and entertainments for the season of 1887-8. The course was begun by Burdette in his popular lecture. "The History of the Moustache." Future evenings will embrace a lecture by Thomas Wentworth Higginson, concert by the Beethoven Club and readings by Professor Churchill.
