Prof. Gurney, acting under the advice of his physician, has been obliged to give up all his courses. Mr. Cogges-hall, '88, now conducts History IV.
The election of President and Vice-president of the Harvard Dining Association takes place this evening at dinner. Candidates for president are: E. J. Rich, '87 and Vogel, '87; for vice-president, Allen, '88, and Loeb, '88.
The Cambridge railroad directors have conceded to the request of the employees of the road by increasing their wages to $2.00 a day. This increase was squandered in the purchase of U. S. flags with which the cars are now adorned.
The freshman lacrosse team played with the Everetts yesterday afternoon. Each team scored one goal in the first half. In the second half '89 threw another goal which was not allowed by the referee on account of a technicality, consequently the game was a draw.
The Cyclist and Athlete publishes the following letter: "Dear Sir: Will you please inform me of some fur dealer in New York; I have the following hides I will sell: 3 skunks, 10 musk rats, 1 white tail musk rat, 1 coon, 5 possums, 16 cats, 1 mink, 1 wild cat, 1 common barn rat. You see I am making good use of the D. B. shot gun I won time we were in Cleveland races.
