The following are some noticeable individual faults:
Stroke. Hangs at the full reach and also at the finish. Drops his body at the full reach. Fails to keep a good hold with his outside hand.
7. Doesn't face his oar soon enough on the recover, which causes a hang on the full reach. Doesn't row his shoulders back. Keeps bad time.
6. Rows rather short. Slumps badly at the finish; drops out at the full reach. Should use his legs equally. Is apt to over reach.
5. Slumps worse than any man in the boat at both ends of the stroke. Fails to sit up to it and to get on to his stretcher. Doesn't row his oar way through. Should start forward quicker.
4. Clips badly at the beginning of the stroke. Slumps at full reach and finish. Should row his elbows right by his side, and not pull down into his lap.
3. Drops out at the full reach. Is slow on the beginning of the recover, and rushes his slide. Feathers under water.
2. Clips badly at the beginning of the stroke, as he does not get his oar well down on the full reach. Swings all over the boat. Drops out at the full reach.
1. Doesn't work hard enough. Drops out at the full reach and slumps at the finish. Swings badly. Doesn't put his oar in soon enough, has a weak finish and feathers under water.
As a whole the crew are apt to slump at both ends of the stroke, fail to work well from their stretchers, and swing very unevenly.
The crew has been coached by Penrose, Storrow and Mumford.
As a rule the men have worked hard and conscientiously through the winter and spring, and will probably take first or second place in the class races.
