The Mott Haven Team.

THE CANDIDATES FOR THE SEVERAL EVENTS.

Holmes Field presents a very lively and interesting appearance every afternoon now. Ever since the ground has been suitable, the candidates for the Mott Haven team have been hard at work on the field as well as in the gymnasium. Thanks to the ability and faithful work of Mr. Lathrop, who is busy from morning till night coaching the candidates, greater interest than ever before seems to be taken in the sports. No less than forty-nine men go regularly on Holmes Field every day to practice under his supervision. Although the college lost so many great athletes when '84 graduated, still the great interest and enthusiasm manifested by the men this year encourages us to hope that the cup will remain at Harvard for another year. Below will be found a list, necessarily somewhat incomplete, of the candidates for the different events in the inter-collegiate sports.

ONE HUNDRED YARDS DASH.Baker, '86; Bradley, '86; Holden, '88; R. D. Smith, '86; Lander, '86.

All the men here named have made remarkably good time, and the prospect that Harvard will win this event is excellent.
