Fact and Rumor.

The score made by Dartmouth in her game of yesterday against Brown indicates that the game on our grounds to-morrow will be close and interesting.

Marsh, '87, and Stagg, '88 are playing on the Yale 'Varsity nine in the places of Lyon and Stuart, at third and first bases respectively.

The performers in "Julius Caesar" will be photographed to-day. It is suggested that, after the group has been taken, a game of base-ball be played between nines picked from the "mob," "lictors," and the "vestals."

Championship games this week: Wednesday, Dartmouth vs. Harvard, at Cambridge; Friday, Dartmouth vs. Brown, at Hanover; Saturday, Harvard vs. Brown, at Cambridge; Amherst vs. Princeton, at Amherst.

The defeat of Princeton is largely attributable to the lack of strategy shown by Buckram, who continued to deliver a terrifically swift ball after Shaw's hands had become too sore to hold him, instead of slowing down and trusting somewhat to the fielders.

The '83 nine was yesterday defeated by a strong picked nine, on which were Beaman, Wiestling and Foster of the 'varsity, by a score of 8 to 3. Foster, while at the bat, was struck in the eye by a foul tip, which compelled him to leave the field. It is doubtful if he can play on Wednesday.

Harvard is not the only place where students celebrate occasionally. At Yale last Saturday, a senior was arrested and held in bonds for assaulting an officer who endeavored to restrain the ardor of the students at the celebration of the appointment of Prof. Phelps.
