Fact and Rumor.

There will be a gymnastic contest for the amateur championship of America in New York on Feb. 19, 1885, in the following events: horizontal bar, parallel bars, flying rings, and club swinging.

A very handsome library, capable of holding 100,000 volumes, is now at the service of the University of Vermont. It is called the "Billings library," from the name of the donor, Mr. F. Billings of Woodstock, Vt.

Another picture of Washington has been hung in Memorial Hall. It is a copy by Crumidi of Peale's Washington that hangs in the President's room at the Capital, and comes from the estate of Henry W. Longfellow.
