The '87 Freshman Crew.

REPORT OF THE MANAGEMENT.

In order to compare the expenses of the '86 Freshman crew with the '87, as the former is the only other crew that has rowed at New London for several years, the following general report is given:

DR.

To subscriptions from class of '86, $1,766.82

To members of crew for board, 490.00

Total received, $2,256.82

CR.

By table board, $1,080.00

By coaching expenses, 420.00

By other expenses, including new shell, 1.676.60

Total expended, $3,176.60

Total received, 2,256.82

Total indebtedness, $919.78

The members of the crew on going to the training table, paid the manager of the crew the amount that they had been paying before at their own tables.

From comparison of these reports, it will be seen that the total amounts of receipts and expenditures of both crews are almost identical, in spite of the fact that our expenses at New London were increased some $200 over '86, owing to the postponement of the race. Again, acting under the advice of the captain of the University crew, we employed the services of Col. Bancroft through the fall. This was at an additional expense of $175. In order to meet this increased expenditure, we economised by buying a second-hand shell of the class of '84, and used every effort to reduce the expenses of the class as much as possible.

Yours respectfully,G. S. MUMFORD, Captain,F. REMINGTON. Manager, '87 Freshman Crew.
