JUNIOR THEMES.Junior theme III will be due on Tuesday, Dec. 22. Subject: A Narrative.
SOPHOMORE THEMES.Sophomore theme VI will be due on Tuesday, Jan. 7; theme VII on Tuesday, Jan 19, 1886. The subject for each of these themes is a narrative; and at the pleasure of the writer the two themes may constitute a single narrative in two parts.
Writers of sophomore themes will in future designate there themes not by their names, but by the numbers which they find written on the first theme.
Special attention is called to the fact that, by the regulations, no overdue theme will be accepted, unless the writer satisfies the Dean that his failure to present it at the appointed time was due to serious illness or unavoidable hindrance.
MODERN SOCIALISM.Rev. John G. Brooks will deliver a course of lectures on Modern Socialism (with special reference to Europe) on successive Monday evenings, in Sever 11. The subjects are as follows:
Dec. 21. Science vs. Sympathy in the "Social Question."
LECTURES ON HEALTH AND STRENGTH.Dr. Edwin Farnham of Cambridge, will give a course of twenty lectures in Sever 11, open to all members of the University, on Health and Strength, on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. before the recess, and on Wednesdays at 7.30 p.m. after the recess.
