FACT AND RUMOR.

The nine received the same cordial and hearty reception form their Princeton friends that has been given to them in years past, and which has made the trip to Princeton the pleasantest event of the base-ball season.

The lacrosse championship now lies between Princeton and Yale. The two teams are very evenly matched, and as the championship depends on the result of a single game, the contest will be extremely exciting.

Robert College, Constantinople, has 211 students this year, of whom 49 are in the preparatory department. Of the 162 in the classes, 85 are Bulgarians, 63 are Armenians, 10 are Greeks, one is a Tunisian, one a Slavonian, one a Hebrew, and one an Englishman.

The fifth annual report of the executive committee of the Archeological Institute, of which Prof. Charles Eliot Norton is president, has been published in pamphlet form, together with the report of the committee on the American school which we recently reviewed.

The following telegram was received last night by the manager of the freshman nine: "Conditions accepted. Signatures forwarded immediately. Please send your batting order.-J. M. GILLESPIE." In accordance with this arrangement the freshman nine will play at New Haven. on May 31st.

The standing of the colleges in the contest for the base-ball championship is given below. The defeat of our nine by Brown has slightly lessened our chances, but Amherst has also received a set back by her defeat on Saturday. Yale, by defeating Amherst, has improved her chances; their nine has only lost a single game, but has played only four in all. The following table is complete to date:
