Blanks have been sent to the alumni of P. E. A., class of '82, now in college, to be filled out with votes for the president of the day, toastmaster, orator, poet and chorister for the class dinner next June. A prompt response is requested.

The plot of land in the rear of Felton Hall is to be laid out in tennis courts for the use of the students rooming there.

The trustees of Tufts College, at a meeting this week, made provision for the erection of a gymnasium and a building for scientific purposes. The names of the donors are withheld at their request.

The freshman lacrosse team play at Andover today. The result of the game with the second twelve of the Unions last Monday was a victory for the latter by a score of four goals to two. The freshmen made a very creditable showing considering that the presence of four first eleven men among their opponents made a material change in the result.

To serve the purpose of the printed descriptions of courses offered by some of the departments, Prof. Palmer will devote the next two hours in Philosophy 1 to a description of the various courses offered in philosophy, as well as to advice as to what courses to take and what method to pursue in a course of private reading with criticisms on the principal text books and authors in philosophy.

The secretary of the navy has received a communication from Harvard to the effect that, at Professor Agassiz's suggestion, it would name Mr. George H. Richards, a graduate of Cambridge University, England, and stroke of its crew, as referee. The stand of colors for the race this year will be provided by Harvard, and are designed by Ford, of New Haven.-[Courant.
