Winslow, '85, has been unable to pitch during the recess on account of a severe attack of rheumatism.

Breakfast at Memorial for the remainder of the college year will be from 7.30 to 9 A. M., dinner from 6 to 7.

Professor John Langdon Sibley, the veteran ex-librarian of Harvard, is seriously ill at his residence in Cambridge.

The Charles River Street Railway Co. is to extend its lines from its present terminus opposite the gymnasium to Harvard square.

The new Law School building will probably be finished by the specified time, Sept. 1st. The central portion is now rapidly rising.

"Energy and perseverance," says the Yale Courant, "are not wanting to the '86 nine. Confidence is the only other condition of success.

Yale has decided to engage a professional trainer for those of the athletes who are preparing to enter for the coming games at the Polo grounds in New York.

We rejoice to learn from a Yale paper that "Happy Baby Soothing Syrup" is having an extensive sale at the New Haven institution. No news could be better than this, nor more fruitful in promises for the future of the Yale freshmen. It is pleasant also to note that it is entirely due to advertising in the college papers that this panacea has attained so wide a popularity at our sister college. The moral is obvious

Dartmouth is taking up boating, since by the building of a dam on the river near by the college the river has been widened sufficiently to allow of class races.

Mr. Albert E. Menke of Harvard University has been appointed to the professorship of agriculture and agricultural chemistry in the Kentucky State College.

The Yale race this year will take place Thursday, June 28th; the Columbia race Wednesday, June 20th, while the freshman race will probably be rowed Saturday, June 23d.

An exchange brings us information that the tug of war team from the Law School by its defeat of the Medical School has now secured "the championship of the college."

The New York Tribune says of Prof. Paine's Spring Symphony that it is a serious, important and beautiful work, and of its author that he is easily foremost of American composers.

The Hasty Pudding Club gave a successful representation of "Conrad and Medora" at the Turf Club Theatre, New York, last Friday, in aid of the boat club fund. About $700 was netted.
