FACT AND RUMOR.

The next meeting of Harvard Union will be held in Sever 11, Tuesday evening, March 27. The subject for debate will be : "Resolved, that monopolies in the United States should be checked by direct legislation." The disputants will be Messrs. A. C. Lane, '83; McArthur, '85, for the affirmative, and Messrs. Wilson, '84; Winter, '85, for the negative.

In future the University Calendar will be published one day earlier (Friday). Announcements will be received till 10 o'clock on Thursday morning.

The Advocate editors ('83 and '84 board) will be taken at Pach's studio at 10 o'clock Saturday; the O. K. group ('83) at 11 o'clock, Monday.

In the HERALD of yesterday the freshman examination in Classical Lectures should have been announced for Tuesday, April 3, instead of Monday.

The following-named men have been elected members of the Pi Eta from '84 : E. E. Allen, W. S. Barnes, Good-speed, H. H. Kendall, Miles, Moore, Walker.

The notices in regard to assignment of college rooms have been sent around. A new feature is the following clause : "Only the constant use of a room by night as well as by day will be regarded as occupation thereof."

The last concert by the Boston Symphony Orchestra occurs in Sanders Theatre tonight. The programme will be as follows : Overture, "Genoveva," Schumann; concerto for piano-forte in E-flat (MS.), Henschel; symphonic poem, "The Tempest," John K. Paine, (conducted by the composer); "Lohengrin's Legend and Farewell," Wagner; "Invitation a la Valse," Weber-Berlioz. Soloists : Mr. Charles R. Adams; Mr. Georg Henschel, piano-forte.
