Meeting of the Christian Brethren this evening in 18 Stoughton, at 6.30. Dr. A. P. Peabody will give an address. This will be the first time that Dr. Peabody has spoken publicly in Cambridge since his return from Europe. All are invited.

The freshmen are exerting all their energies for the game next Saturday. The quarter and half - backs are out at 3 every afternoon, instead of at 4.

The course in the hare and hounds run this afternoon will be between six and eight miles. The start will be made in front of Matthews at 3.15 P. M.

A challenge from the Williams freshmen has been received by the Harvard freshman eleven for a game of foot - ball on the 24th. No action has yet been taken.

The officers for the Philological Society for this year are : G. E. Lowell, president; J. H. Wigmore, secretary and treasurer; A. R. Marsh and A. L. Hodges, executive committee.

The Boston Technology team were dissatisfied with the referee in their game with Yale, and claim that "many points which really ought to have been given to the Techs were given to Yale at critical points of the game."

The game of foot - ball last night at the Olympian Club rink between the first elevens of the Chauncy Hall and English High Schools, resulted in a draw, neither eleven winning a goal in a spirited contest of twenty minutes, the time allotted for the game.

A special meeting of the board of overseers will be held this morning in Boston to act upon communications from the president and fellows, to consider the question of discipline at commencement, and of assigning scholarships to special students.
