FACT AND RUMOR.

The subject of the lecture by Prof. H. Newell Martin, next Tuesday evening, will be "The Beat of the Heart."

On Wednesday evening last, Prof. Simon Newcourt, president of the Washington Philosophical Society and editor of the Nautical Almanac, gave an interesting lecture before the Institute Society of Arts, on the advantages of a mathematical education.

Mr. Davis' lectures in Natural History 1 and 8 will hereafter be delivered in U. 4, instead of at the museum. The members of these courses are very thankful to Mr. Davis, for his kind attention to their comfort and convenience, as shown in this change.

Seniors can now make appointments with the class committee to sit for their photographs. A member of the committee will be at 10 Hilton's Block to make appointments, between the hours of one and two o'clock on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons of next week and the week after.
