That passion every human shares?
And were you never formed to know
The sweetest of all human cares?
In sooth, some monster made you so,
To mock the holy pangs of love;
Thus you're unfit for earth below,
And far less fit for heaven above.
A FRIEND of the Gray collection has recently purchased the engraving stand in the Library, given it to the Scientific School, and presented us with a new one. The new stand will hold thirty leaves, each leaf half as large again as the old ones. It will thus be able to contain the larger engravings, which will not require to be sewed in. Though the whole number of leaves will not be mounted immediately, the engravings will probably be changed once a month.
MEMORIAL HALL begins to show signs of completion. The west vestibule has been scaffolded preparatory to putting up the stained glass next week. It is hoped that all the windows will be completed by the end of next month. The glass was procured in England, but the artistic work has been done by the Boston firm of W. J. McPherson and Company in a most complete and handsome manner.
