During a week in which the Crimson women’s basketball team overcame early deficits to improve their record to 19-7 by beating Cornell and Columbia, head coach Kathy Delaney-Smith set her own records from the sidelines.
After 32 years at Harvard, Delaney-Smith won her 514th game on Saturday night, tying former Princeton men’s coach Pete Carril for the most wins by an Ivy League basketball coach.
“I’m very proud of that record, but it’s secondary to so many other things,” Delaney-Smith said. “I think Harvard is a school that does it right; the balance of athletics and academics is philosophically what I believe in.”

Harvard students know that their school is off the Red Line.
But most do not know that Harvard has its own Red Line—the Ultimate Frisbee team on campus.
Last week junior Jeremy Nixon, a 6’ 2” cutter on Red Line, was recruited to play for the Boston Whitecaps, a Major League Ultimate team that won the national championship in 2013.

There must be something in the Sunday brunches of Columbia junior Steve Frankowski. Across 24 career Ivy League games, Frankowski has averaged 5.9 points a game overall, but in his two Sunday afternoon contests the junior has averaged 21.5 ppg. Last year, Frankowski totaled 27 points in a 15-point Columbia home win against Harvard.

Brandyn Curry, Men’s Basketball
The senior captain contributed in a big way to a big weekend for Harvard men’s basketball, racking up a total of 26 points in matchups against Penn and Princeton. His ability to consistently drain three-pointers and dish out assists has been a major factor in the Crimson offense throughout the season.

The honors just seem to keep coming for Crimson sophomore point guard Siyani Chambers. The Golden Valley, Minn. native, who is the defending Ivy League Rookie of the Year, can now add Bob Cousy Award Finalist to his resume. Chambers was also named to the All-Ivy League First Team as a freshman and to the Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament team this past November
