:55: With under a minute to play, the Dartmouth crowd comes to its feet for the soon-to-be sole Ivy league champions.
1:35: Should just be Dartmouth free throws from here on out. Delaney-Smith subs her senior forwards, Rollins and Moretzsohn, back in.
2:03: Harvard timeout after back-to-back Big Green baskets around yet another Tay turnover. This one is all but over. Dartmouth 62, Harvard 49.
2:52: Smith misses the front end, then Markley makes a jumper and Harvard picks up full court.
3:19: Brittney Smith just too much inside. She makes the basket, then grabs the rebound on a quick Tay miss at the other end. Matera is then called for the foul and Smith will shoot the one-and-one.
3:31: Rollins scores a big block on the other end, then gets rewarded with a sharp elbow to the face. Dartmouth ball under the basket.
3:50: Tay hits a quick jumper just inside the arc. 56-47.
3:59: Dartmouth gets called for a double-dribble and it's headed back to the Crimson. 56-45.
4:15: Tay makes a TOUGH pull-up in the lane and gets fouled. She makes the free throw.
4:37: Markley makes one of two, and Wheeler's night is done after she picks up her fifth. Two points and six rebounds on the night for Wheeler, and Schram makes converts both on the one-and-one. 56-42, and the Big Green is running away with it.
4:43: Markley misses from in close, but hustles after her own miss and gets fouled. She'll shoot two after a Crimson timeout.
5:05: Margaret Smith draws Wheeler's fourth and makes one of two, but Rose cleans up her miss and lays it in. Markley and Berry return for Rollins and Alemany.
5:44: As time is beginning to wind down, Rollins hits a hook shot and gets fouled. She misses the free throw and Dartmouth heads back downcourt up 10.
7:14: Rose pushes it back up to double digits with a basket.
7:35: Back-to-back baskets in the lane from Matera and Markley, and Harvard is once again within eight.
8:30: Schram hits a huge three as the shot clock buzzer sounds, and the crowd goes wild. Coach Delaney-Smith doesn't, and calls timeout. That basket pushed Schram to over 1,000 points in her career at Dartmouth.
8:43: Markley with a big block; the Harvard section chants "You got swatted!"
9:54: Off the inbounds, Berry drives for the hoop and the harm. She makes the freebie.
9:59: Markley back in for Alemany, Harvard with possession. The Crimson needs baskets.
10:12: After a Harvard turnover, Brittney finishes inside again. Lead back up to 10 for the Big Green.
11:29: Cassie Cooper with way too easy a layup, and that takes us to the under-12 timeout. Dartmouth 40, Harvard 32.
11:56: Tay gets her first basket of the game on a leaner in the lane. Big sigh of relief.
12:24: Matera hits a three after a Rollins kick out. On the other end, Brittney Smith picks up her second on a loose ball. Harvard down 38-30 with the ball.
13:47: Rollins called for a travel. Where will the Harvard offense come from?
14:26: Cassie Cooper subs in for Rose and it'll be Dartmouth ball up 11.
15:13: Darcy Rose picks up her third on a questionable charge call, but the Crimson will take it. The Harvard cheering section responds with a "You can't do that!" chant.
15:33: Moretzsohn gets the rebound off an Alemany misses and lays it in. 36-27.
16:01: Dartmouth pushes the ball after another Tay turnover and Alemany gets called for her third. It's been a rough go so far for Tay after her career-high 34 Saturday against Yale. Timeout on the floor.
16:40: Markley and Rollins have a couple good looks down low but can't connect, and Markley picks up her third going for the jump ball. Harvard had the "DE-FENSE" chant going, but now it's the slightly less classy "SAFETY SCHOOL" taunt.
17:00: Brittney Smith makes the basket and gets fouled. It's Wheeler's third, so she'll go the bench and be replaced by Rollins. Smith makes the free throw.
17:19: A little sloppy and Schram and Alemany go to the floor. Jump ball, possession Dartmouth. 33-25.
17:51: Tay turns it over trying to find Alemany on the fast break. Same breakneck pace as the first half here.
18: 45: Schram hits a three and the crowd goes nuts. 33-23, Dartmouth.
19:48: Berry promptly hits a jumper just inside the three point line, and Brittney Smith answers with a layup.
Harvard's fan bus apparently just arrived, and several shirtless Crimson fans have given Harvard a rowdy cheering section. Much needed with some pretty vocal Dartmouth supporters in the building.
A few halftime stats: Balanced scoring on both sides, with Brittney Smith leading the Big Green with eight and Berry and Moretzsohn leading Harvard with five apiece. The eye-popping number? Unsurprisingly, the rebounding differential: Dartmouth 33, including 13 on the offensive glass, to Harvard's 13. Ouch. Markley, Wheeler and Jackie Alemany each have two fouls, but can't back down.
Tay has been a non-factor so far with no points on 0-of-2 shooting. Harvard will need her to heat up, either as a scorer or distributor, if it wants any shot at this one.
Halftime things you should know: after several college-age guys missed three-pointers worth $25 bucks, a high-school girl knocked one home.
Also, the crowd honors Dartmouth's women's ice hockey team, recent winners of the ECAC tournament champions. They'll play Wisconsin this weekend in the NCAA Tournament--Harvard knows how that story goes.
HALFTIME: Dartmouth can't get a shot off against a suddenly shut-down zone, and one of the fastest first halves I've ever seen comes to a close with the score 28-21, Dartmouth. Considering its frontcourt's struggles against Darcy Rose and the Smith sisters, the Crimson is lucky to be within striking distance.
:35: Matera finally connects on a three.
:50: The active Harvard zone forces a turnover. Harvard ball with under a minute to go.
1:47: Moretzsohn grabs a rebound, goes up strong and gets the basket and the foul. Moretzsohn making an impact here with her teammates in foul trouble. Misses the free throw, but Dartmouth turns it over on the offensive end. 28-18, Big Green.
2:05: Margaret Smith shows off her range with a baseline jumper.
2:24: Some nice ball movement from the Crimson, but Moretzsohn gets called for three seconds in the key.
3:05: Dartmouth's Sasha Dosenko answers with a basket down low.
3:30: Berry hits a much-needed jumper from the corner. Harvard in the 2-3.
3:56: Now it's Wheeler getting called for the push-off, her second. Crimson forwards are outmatched on the boards against Dartmouth's athletic frontcourt.
4:47: Matera misses a three and has started 0-for-3 from the floor. Moretzsohn called for the push-off on the rebound, her first.
6:03: Schram turns it over trying to feed it inside, and coach Wielgus calls timeout.
6:30: Gorgeous pass from Berry to find an open Moretzsohn for an easy two.
7:06: Senior Emma Moretzsohn in for Markley and gets fouled on her first touch. She makes one of two. 21-12, Big Green.
7:19: Markley picks her second--she'll head to the bench after the media timeout.7:55: Pretty finish from Rose down low. Harvard needs a basket and gets it on a Markley turnaround. 19-11, Dartmouth.
9:17: Alemany misses a three, Rollins called for the push off down low. Berry and Markley back in for the Crimson.
10:24: Darcy Rose at the line and makes one of two. The Big Green already holds a 19-6 advantage on the boards.
11:01: Wheeler goes up strong and will shoot two after the second media timeout. A very fast-paced first half in Hanover.
11:54: Somehow the Crimson fails to pick up Dartmouth's Koren Schram on D, and she hits a jumper in the lane. Harvard goes one and done on the other end--it's been a while since its last basket. 14-7, Dartmouth.
13:05: Smith with a big block on Markley. That got the crowd fired up, but Dartmouth turns it over on the other end.
13:34: Sophomore Christine Matera the first sub of the bench for the Crimson.
13:50: Claire Wheeler gets a good push-off foul on Brittney Smith, her first.
