BROWN RECOVERS, and that'll be it with 1:02 remaining and just one timeout for the Crimson. Brown will break a streak of eight consecutive losses to Harvard, and with Cornell's 17-7 lead on Yale, it appears that the Bears may have just staked an early claim on the Ivy race.
AND THE TWO POINT CONVERSION IS STOPPED! JENKINS IS STUFFED JUST SHORT, AND HARVARD WILL HAVE TO GO FOR THE ONSIDES KICK.
4th quarter, 1:10: After an incompletion on first down, Pizzotti runs to the 3 on second down. Harvard takes its second timeout, and O'Hagan comes out for the third-down play...AND O'HAGAN HITS MATT LUFT FOR A TOUCHDOWN IN THE BACK OF THE END ZONE, AND THERE'S A PERSONAL FOUL PENALTY FOR ROUGHING THE PASSER. O'HAGAN'S ONE APPEARANCE IS A GOOD ONE, AND HARVARD WILL GO FOR TWO FROM THE 1 1/2 YARD LINE AFTER THE PENALTY.
4th quarter, 1:26: Pizzotti hits RICHARDS AT THE 7, it's 1st-and-goal for the Crimson.
4th quarter, 1:41: Pizzotti scrambles with no one open downfield and converts a 2nd-and-inches. The rain has started again here in Providence, so this comeback will be even more difficult.
4th quarter, 2:37: Pizzotti throws it directly into the arms of Brown's Nkosi Still, but he drops the pick and Harvard lives to fight another play.
4th quarter, 3:07: Pizzotti throws for Iannuzzi on 3rd-and-5, but he gets drilled as the ball arrives and it's 4th-and-5. Here's your ballgame...and PIZZOTTI HITS LEVI RICHARDS, FIRST DOWN at the Brown 46.
4th quarter, 4:14: An absolutely critical penalty on the Crimson, as Harvard is flagged for a false start on 3rd-and-3. On 3rd-and-8, Pizzotti dumps it off to Gordon, who just gets to the marker for a first down. A huge, huge conversion for the Crimson as the clock ticks under four minutes.
4th quarter, 4:45: The Crimson finally gets a third-down stop, and after the punt Harvard takes over at its own 25. You have to think that this will be the last lengthy possession for the Crimson, so a score needs to happen now.
4th quarter, 6:46: Another huge conversion for Brown, as Daugherty hits Sewall for a first down on 3rd-and-7.
4th quarter, 7:53: After a screen pass is incomplete, Harvard will punt again from its own 46. The Crimson is rapidly running out of chances.
4th quarter, 9:42: A lucky break for the Crimson, as Matthew Hansen never turns around to the ball and the pass is caught in the end zone, but the official rules that the ball hit the ground. Ryan Burkhead gets Harvard's first sack of the game on the next play, and Brown settles for a FIELD GOAL. Your score is now 24-16 Brown.
4th quarter, 11:33: Once again, a missed opportunity for the Harvard defense. Daugherty goes deep and is nearly picked by Andrew Berry, but Berry drops the tough pick. After a Dereck Knight run, it's 4th-and-6 for the Bears on the Harvard 28, and...Brown converts! Daugherty hits Matthew Sudfeld for a first down.
4th quarter, 12:25: Another third down conversion for Brown, as Dereck Knight breaks a tackle at the line of scrimmage and picks up 18 on 3rd-and-1.
4th quarter, 13:59: A critical penalty--Brown was facing 3rd-and-5, and Brenton Bryant gets called for lining up in the neutral zone. Even worse, Bryant dropped off into pass coverage on the play and had intercepted the pass, so instead of a turnover it's a Brown first down.
End of the 3rd quarter: Harvard's got its work cut out for it here in the fourth quarter, although the offense finally showed signs of life on that field goal drive.
