SPORTS BRIEF: Crimson set to face Texas Tech in first round of NCAA tournament

After a perfect Ivy League season that handed it an automatic bid, the No. 51 men’s tennis team is set to take on No. 17 Texas Tech in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday May 10 at 2 p.m. to open the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Reaching as high as No. 44 over the course of an up-and-down season, the team used a trying early-season schedule to prepare itself for the tougher play to come, taking on top-ranked teams such as No. 1 Virginia and No. 8 Michigan.

Harvard will look to better its 15-6 record and continue its seven-game winning streak that includes two consecutive 7-0 victories to end the season.

The Red Raiders won an at-large bid to make it into competition.

The postseason is far from new to the Crimson and head coach Dave Fish ’72. Teams coached by Fish have won at least one game in each of their last three NCAA Championship appearances.
