The Crimson Editorial Board is Pleased to Announce its Spring 2008 Cartoonists

Yelena S. Mironova ’10 thinks that if everyone always said what they thought, the world would be a huge New York subway station, and no one would like that. Polite half-statements are the kool-aid that keeps everyone’s tongues as bright as their spirits, and their minds blissfully unaware of their neighbor’s intentions to step on their head in the climb up the social/academic/banking ladder. Her cartoons will, hopefully, be a bit less confusing than the blurb you just read, and maybe a bit more uplifting. Judge for yourself on Mondays.

Aliza H. Aufrichtig ’08 is a literature concentrator in Mather House, and has had this cartooning gig for awhile. She wants to thank everybody who has dealt with her while she lamented, “AHHH! What should I draw for today?!”, brainstormed with her, and kept her company while she drew. She would also like to thank the smaller set of people who have found her cartoons funny over the past three years. Continue laughing at her cartoons on Tuesdays.

Kelly G. Bowse ’08 is a visual and environmental studies concentrator in Currier House. She hails from Vermont, where the natural environment is similar to Massachusetts, except that the squirrels there don’t eat human babies for breakfast. She hopes her brother, TJ, will make it to the NHL so he can support her art career. Check out her cartoon on Wednesdays.

Katherine E. Lauderdale ’11 is a prospective visual and environmental studies concentrator in Matthews Hall. She wishes abstract expressionist cartooning were better appreciated. You can laugh with her or at her on Thursdays.

Rajarshi V. Banerjee ’11 visited New York’s MoMA over intersession. You can check out his cartoons every Friday.
