Four Crimson women placed at the ECAC/IC4A Championships this weekend.
Sophomore Becky Christensen led the group, tying for second in the high jump with Cornell’s Sarah Wilfred with a clearance of 1.75 meters.
Junior Clara Blattler was one of two scorers in the pole vault for Harvard, clearing 3.65 meters to tie for fourth. Co-captain Sally Stanton was eighth in the same event despite clearing the same height, as ties were broken based on number of misses.
Freshman Eda Karesin was fifth in the javelin, throwing it 43.37 meters.
Overall, the women’s team placed 21st out of 49 scoring teams at the event, while the men’s team failed to score.
It was the final meet of the season for the majority of the Crimson and therefore the final opportunity for athletes to qualify for NCAA Regionals.
Christensen, Karesin, and senior co-captain Julia Pederson—who qualified in the javelin—had already qualified for regionals before the weekend, and no other Harvard athletes met the NCAA qualifying standards at the meet.
The NCAA Regional meet will take place in Gainesville, Fla., on May 26 and 27.
