Lost and Found
12:11 p.m.—An officer was dispatched to the Pound Building, on 1573 Massachusetts Ave., on Friday, March 24 to take a report of a stolen, unattended pocketbook with contents valued at $1,732. At 1:30 p.m., the pocketbook was found and the owner was located. The individual states that the only items missing were the individual’s wallet, which contained a driver’s license, a debit card, and $15.
Damaged Vehicles
10:05 p.m.—Officers were dispatched to North Hall on Saturday, March 25 to a report of two individuals damaging vehicles in the lot. The officers arrived and report that the two suspects were gone on arrival and there was no damage done to any of the vehicles.
Suspicious Individuals
7:02 p.m.—Officers were dispatched to the Newell Boathouse to a report of two suspicious individuals inside a parked motor vehicle on Monday, March 27. The officers arrived and a field interview was conducted with both occupants. Both individuals were run for wants/warrants with negative results. Both individuals were issued a Trespass Warning for all Harvard Property and sent on their way.
Suspicious Materials
12:10 p.m.—Officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious materials found in containers at 66 Parcell Dr. on Tuesday, March 28. The officers, along with the Massachusetts State Police and Bomb Squad, checked the containers and determined that they were past inert explosive materials and not hazardous.
He’s Cool
4:16 p.m.—An officer was dispatched to Dillon House on Tuesday, March 28 to a report of a suspicious individual who is frequently in the area. The officer arrived and reports that the person is an affiliate and is not suspicious.
Runaway Wheelchair
8:44 p.m.—An officer was dispatched to Kresge on Wednesday, March 29 to a report that a wheelchair had rolled down from the Brigham and Women’s hospital. The officer arrived and reports that a van from the hospital will be by to pick up the wheelchair.
Car Theft Thwarted
1:12 a.m.—Officers observed numerous individuals surrounding a motor vehicle on Thursday, March 30. As the officers approached the vehicle the individuals closed the doors to the vehicle and began leaving the area quickly. The officers conducted a field interview with one individual who was standing inside the open vehicle door and asked the individual if he owned the vehicle and he said he did not. The officer then observed what appeared to be urine inside the motor vehicle. Caleb Vogel, 19, of Cambridge, MA, was then placed under arrest and charged with breaking and entering a vehicle with intent to commit a felony and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
Good Dog
4:06 p.m.—Officers were dispatched to the Broadway Garage last Sunday to a report that an individual and a dog are in a vehicle and could possibly be living in it. The officers arrived and report that the dog was in the car alone, the windows were down, and the dog had food and water.
